I thought his hero (George W) provided a "tax break" that would have enabled him to be in a better position to afford a home, new cars, etc. And plus, all those wonderful Replublicans in Congress and the Senate have surely improved the economy to the point where he should be able to afford a new home! if he was forced to live in the "black neighborhoods". There was a reality show by Morgan Spurlock where a homophobe was forced to live the the Castro in San Francisco for a month and a fundy Christian lived the the Muslim part of Ann Arbor

11. My son just related this story....

His boss waited on a bi-racial couple and after they left the store the boss starts ranting and raving about how wrong the couple were for dating. My son listens, it's his boss, and then the boss says he had a girlfriend once who admitted to dating a black man and he dropped her. He turns to my son who by now is totally wierded out and asks what's wrong. My son says, "I don't mean to challenge you but why would you stop dating her? I truly don't understand." He said the guy blinked and said, "I guess it's just a personal preference." My son says, " I don't want to argue your personal preference, I just can't figure out what difference having dated a black man would make". He continued to act all dumb and the guy suddenly says to forget it, and backs off of the racist talk.

My sons father, my ex, is a racist and calls himself a dixiecrat, so my son knows all about racists. He just has found a way to communicate with a racist when he is forced to.

Most people back-off or just go-along with peers and especially adult authority figures. I'm glad that he takes it on his own to question others ethics and point out how ugly, cruel and despicable they are. No matter a person's race, sexual preference or even political (exceptions Nazi types) beliefs, they should not be discriminated against. In my everyday, personal life I don't even like to use labels for people. I don't say here's my "black" neighbor..., there's my gay friend..., etc. The only exception and for clarity is explaining these situations on these forums.

And BTW - He (the rw/wack-job) doesn't even know that one of our bosses/co-owner of the company is gay. Even my boss's business partner who is also pro-Bush, anti-gay doesn't know it. I found out through a mutual friend and he knows my beliefs so I'm the only person here at this small office who knows about it.
