but I know this lady that is a total scam artist. She let a butcher operate on her back so she could claim disability. Anyway...her life is a series of mini-scams, but this last one of hers really got to me. She sits on her computer ALL DAY (because she is disabled). She lives in an area where there is a very active freecycle. ANYTHING that is posted that is valuable--she sends her "feel sorry for me, I need this desperately, I am disabled" spiel and the people usually fall for it and give her the stuff. Over the past year, she has obtained 5 cars, 2 computers, 2 motorized wheelchair scooters plus multitudes of smaller stuff. She then sells the stuff. We have had some discussions over this because I feel that people that freecycle the stuff want it to go to people who TRULY need it, not someone who just wants to sell it to buy a projection TV, desk, etc (her latest purchases from her sold freecycle stuff). Anyway...the last thing she sold was a car. It ran but it wasn't a good car. She sold it to a guy for $500. Now what runs through my head when someone pays $500 for a car is that this person REALLY needs a car. The car broke down 2 blocks from her house. He was back 5 minutes after he purchased it and asked if he could have his money back because he didn't have enough money to fix it and REALLY just needed a car to go to work in. Personally, I would have given him his money back if he would have helped me get the thing back to the house. However, she refused to give the guy his money back and said he bought it "As Is". I mean, she had absolutely NO money in this car. She told the guy, in essence, sorry for your luck. It's your problem. What is wrong with people?
