Question for DU mechanically inclined types - product to get rust off...
...of metal, specifically a bicycle chain. Is there a product I can use that'll take it off, or should I just resign myself to an afternoon using a wire brush?

7. THANK YOU! Now I remember that stuff.
I need to clean up a bike I'm selling, and the chain needs to be more cosmetically presentable. :-)

9. Just oil it up and wipe off excess....
Rust won't necessarily affect the moving parts of the chain. If rust is extreme and some links are stiff, just wiggle and work them free. If it's really trashed just replace with a new one (new chains are not expensive).

10. If I want to get rust off of something...
I use a wire brush and a product called (I think) rustbullet.

Haven't used in on a bicycle chain though.
