Yesterday was my parents' 40th anniversary
I'm really happy for them and they're so cute and in love. :-)

But...

It's really depressing. When they were my age they had already been married for 10 years. What does a girl have to do to find someone to love her like that?

5. Awe VelmaD
That what everyone said to me. I stopped looking and that is how I met my wife. Honestly. Hand in there and I am sending you some Karma.

Make yourself available, coffeehouses, parties, going out with your friends, libraries, etc

7. I'm trying
I made myself more available and the universe started dropping ineteresting men into my life. Problem is they all live a thousand miles away. I don't get it. *shakes head* :-)

10. Not really
It just seems like all the guys I meet/know live really far away. Some of them are people I've known for a while who just live far away now and some are people I met through DU who happen to live far away.

The guys I meet in person either we don't have that kind of chemistry or they aren't interested or I'm not or in one particularly depressing case they weren't actually from Austin and I had to watch them go.

3. Congrats to your parents
Mine just celebrated their 40th this past August. It's a great accomplishment, and they had you, so that's an extra bonus! :hi:

6. I hear ya hon....
3 years ago my parents celebrated 50 years together. In order for me to have that I'd have to get married this year, live to be 90 and marry a 20-year old man--tomorrow.

Congrats to your parents.
