Just so you know, I'm drunk
Someone was asking about good drunk posters this week, and I didn't know if anyone had ever even seen me post drunk, but now, I'm drunk. I've had a beer, and 3 shots of 1800, which for me is a tremendous amount of alcohol (since my gastric bypass, drinking even one drink is like injecting the alcohol into my blood stream).

So, I'm loaded.

:hi:

Can you bargain with him? I don't know what is behind the potentiaL faiLure here but it seems Like if he carries it off for just a few more weeks then he ought to be abLe to crash and burn and start over at coLLege in the faLL. That seems a good trade-off to me. Can he be convinced? PM me if you want.

26. I hate to say it but
join the club. My son was a TAG (Talented & Gifted) student in high school. His strongest subject was Math. His freshman math teacher said he was one of most gifted students he had seen. But he was bored in school. He could read the books in every class, listen to the teacher lecture on the material, not study at all, then go in and Ace the test. But he blew off his classes and still hasn't finished all his graduation requirements a year after his class graduated. His TAG teacher said if he would've applied himself he could've easily won the Math award as a senior and received a scholarship.

29. thank you for telling me that
my son took the Mass standardized tests (MCAS) and won a 4 -year ride to any state school (university, college, or community college) and has managed to

1) lie to me about taking his SATs (he told me he took them in January, but when I stood over his shoulder and made him log on for his scores, he admitted he didn't)

and

2) failed both English and Forensics for 2 semesters in a row (putting his graduation in grave danger)

he's also been toying w/ enlisting (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and I don't know how to impress upon him what he's throwing away anymore

(holy shit am I drunk!)

37. Some kids seem to want to do things the hard way.
I never really had any kind of guidance my son received in high school. He had people praising him constantly and yet he threw it all away. I would've done anything to have the chances he's had. sigh

I hope your son doesn't enlist at the very least.

If you're still around in a little while I'll join you in a drink.
