What's your favorite MP3/media player?
Edited on Fri Apr-28-06 08:52 PM by BattyDem
I'm currently using Winamp, but I was wondering if there's anything better. I'd like a program that has a good Graphic EQ that can save presets. Audio plugins are a plus, but not absolutely necessary.

Any suggestions? :hi:

3. WinAmp was okay...
until AOL bought it. I'd recommend XMMS... and I know people that swear by iTunes. I use whatever comes native with the OS I happen to be using: iTunes, Windows Media or XMMS (I use three OS's on my computer, yes.)

4. I never thought about using iTunes as my main player
I may give that a try. I can't use XMMS because I'm not running Linux and I always preferred Winamp over Media Player - any time I can avoid a Microsoft program, I do. :P

5. Also with windows..
you can get "Media Player Classic." You'd have to google it (I'm lazy), but its basicaly a hacked-up version of WMP that runs very well and doesn't mess up your computer.

6. Winamp...
with the Izotope Ozone DSP plugin (which is probably the best one I've found for any media player, so far. Don't even need to use the Winamp EQ.)

7. iTunes
It can save presets for each song or for a group of songs. You can get a free download from apple.com and it's available for Windows.

12. Love the filesharing, but the program itself is bulky
especially on a windows machine...

16. That's irrelevant
It's still a 20 meg download, and sucks up all sorts of resources. But you use an Apple, so you'll never know how much "all sorts" is, you'll just find your system slower and wonder why }(

22. Gee...I never had that problem.
Even on the 7 year-old iMac G3, I can still use iTunes, Office, surf the net, et cetera and it doesn't seem to slow things down a bit. Man, if apples are slow, I wonder how bad Winblows must be since the new Intel macs run XP faster than a comparable Winblows machine.

18. iTunes, by far...
The playlist creation, especially using Smart Playlists, is so easy. Also, if you are even considering getting an iPod, you will need to know how to use it.

20. It could be...
My friend at UW sent me a few shots he took a while ago... I just really liked that one. I'm not really sure the story behind it, other than a few students thought it'd be really fun to do.
