I saw the most amazing and inspirational movie last night

It was called "Paperclips", an award-winning documentary about a bunch of middle-schoolers in Whitwell, TN that began a project to study the Holocaust and ended up creating a memorial.

PAPER CLIPS is the moving and inspiring documentary film that captures how these students responded to lessons about the Holocaust-with a promise to honor every lost soul by collecting one paper clip for each individual exterminated by the Nazis. Despite the fact that they had previously been unaware of and unfamiliar with the Holocaust, their dedication was absolute. Their plan was simple but profound. The amazing result, a memorial railcar filled with 11 million paper clips (representing 6 million Jews and 5 million gypsies, homosexuals and other victims of the Holocaust) which stands permanently in their schoolyard, is an unforgettable lesson of how a committed group of children and educators can change the world one classroom at a time.

We watched it last night with our kids and I was deeply moved and uplifted by the HOPE these children represent for our world. Do yourself a favor and check it out. You won't be disappointed. :thumbsup:

Awww, it's nice to know I was missed. Yes, it's true, I haven't been hanging around the lounge as much these past few days. I'm on Day 7 of a 10-day cleansing detox juice fast, so I've been feeling very internally focused and relatively withdrawn. It's been amazing and I feel great. I have tons of energy and a heightened sense of clarity and perspective. This is the longest I've gone without food or caffeine, EVER. Great way to do an internal Spring Cleaning, so to speak! Plus, I feel really empowered by my self-discipline.

Yes, the movie is great, check it out if you can.

I heard about that movie...it was playing here at an independent theatre, and I wanted to see it...but as is the case with that *(#$*&% place, they nixed it without notice (did that to Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, too:grr: )

It looks like a wonderful one...guess I'll have to wait for the DVD...
