1. Man I heard enough of that album in college to last me a lifetime...
Edited on Mon Dec-08-03 03:42 PM by Richardo
...(apparently), 'cause it's 25 years later and I have no desire to hear one note of it again.

Those that had it when it was released (1974 or '75) played the SHIT out of it, and since we were in a dorm, you could hear some part of that album nearly 24 hours a day.
:eyes:

9. We must have been in college at the same time.
Because I also remember hearing it constantly in college. I liked it at the time, but it was overplayed.

12. Hahahaha
I can relate to your post....

When I was in school (73 I think), the guy next door in the dorm would play "I Don't need No Doctor" on his 600 watt sytem as soon as he'd get tanked on the weekend...play it all night until he'd pass out. He thrash and bang off the walls...real annoying.

One night, he was jumping off his bed and fell into his dresser, busting his arm.

As it turned out, he did need a doctor.....

4. Heehee
I was 13/14 when that album came out and was huge. Everytime I put it on, my stepdad made fun of it.

Looking back, he was right.

Nah.. the guitar work was great, but the songwriting. Ouch.

5. When I was a freshman in HS, unless you had that album,
you were viewed as a sub-species of human. In other words, "If you ain't got 'Frampton Comes Alive', you ain't shit."

Still like that album to this day.

*hums 'Do You Feel Like We Do' as he types*

6. Other than the obvious cuts that were played over and over and over
when the album came out, I have to say that most of this is amazingly forgettable.

7. Can't stand Peter Frampton
He practically ruined the Ringo concert I went to a few years back.

I never would have guessed it was him. He was beautiful back in his days.

Frampton, Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors", "Wings at the Speed of Sound" and Gary Wright's "Dream Weaver" were all that was being played in those days.

And Stevie Wonder's "Songs in the Key of Life". Man, it seemed like there was new release from that album every hour.

15. Really, I think I would have remembered a title like that
The funy thing about this album is that he really was a nobody and for some reason, EVERYONE bought it.

21. he wasn't a nobody, joey
he was one of the dueling guitars in Humble Pie,awesome legendary rock band , great live. He had chops, boy and it was a time where touring popularity led to contracts so there was a built in audience. Get this album and listen to it if you haven't:

23. Ok, nobody was an overstatement--but there really wasn't anything
to indicate that people would go crazy over this album!

It surprised everyone.

18. I like it
You just can't listen to the words too carefully--they don't make a wick of sense. But it's a nice album for a summer roadtrip, IMHO.

19. "Frampton Comes Alive!" was the begining of the end of Disco
For that alone Pete should be held in respect.
