Portions of western Maine were covered by more than 30 inches of snow during the weekend storm.

Meanwhile, in the Byron area northwest of Rumford, two wardens were looking for three Unity College students who were lost after going winter camping, Latti said.

Three Unity College students who were stranded while winter camping on Tumbledown Mountain are safe and sound after being found in their car 9 a.m. Monday.

The three had been on the western Maine mountain since Saturday.

Meanwhile, a warden pilot spotted eight Oxford Hills High School students and their two adult leaders who were also reported missing.

The group left Friday afternoon to go on a camping trip from Bethel and was last seen Saturday after setting out on the Miles Notch Trail.

We got over 40 inches of snow. I'm curious to hear how these guys managed during the storm.

2. They were all prepared for it.
The kids were probably going to sit still for another day, since they didn't all have snowshoes. But they brought tents, food, etc. for winter camping.

Up here you can't run and hide every time the weatherman says there's a storm brewing. Friday's best weather prediction was 7 inches coastal, 12 inland.

Thanks for the update, MaineDem.
