One of the TV persons was talking about petrol and the future of the planet and said "Anyone who has heard anything at all about the planet is probably concerned. And as for petrol prices, there are reports that even those notorious gas-guzzling Americans are taking stock of the situation"
You're on your way up!
Good for you. :toast:
Don't ask what people said about you before the realisation that SUV's are bad. (Or as SUV's are known here: "Yank Tanks" or "American Gas-Guzzlers")
Edit: I realise that 'taking stock' isn't the strongest term. Still better than before!

we decided to get some exercise and do some errands on foot. Almost got run over a dozen times crossing streets. The "walk buttons" are useless - you still have 2 different lanes of "right on red" vehicles to contend with and about 2 seconds to cross 4 lanes of traffic. We are not set up for safe walking - particularly if you aren't a sprinter.
