That's what I call a PC case
Totally silent. No fans, all cooling done by heat pipes and heatsinks.

700 pounds though :o

1. I am not letting my husband see that
We would have it on our step tomorrow. He's never met a PC part he didn't like, except maybe the Thermaltake liquid cooled system. The pump went out within the first week!

Something tells me he already knows....he's just waiting until he gets home to save up the money.

6. That last one is on sale on E-bay for about 600 bucks...
But I think I could do better, so I'm thinking of building my own lego computer case. A cool project, if possibly a waste of time.

8. It did look like he may have airflow difficulties
it all looked a bit cramped in there.

I suspect a Lego PC case would have to be pretty big to allow room for the heat to dissipate from reasonable-spec components.

9. Its probably the reason for the extra fan...
Edited on Sun Apr-30-06 09:19 AM by Solon
For the Graphics card at least. Though, I figure, if you configure it right, you could have the "Holey" pieces in the right place, and place a larger fan inside the case and you could have a REALLY small case with excellent airflow in and out of the case.

10. I thought it was a low-tech approach of physical security
as you'll need to arrive with about 4 of your strongest buddies to get it into a truck. However, your server room would probabyl collapse right through the computer floor and through the desk of the poor sap the floor below.

18. Better idea...
Make it your headstone, with a speaker built in, have a small pressure plate right over where you are buried, and then, when someone steps on it, the headstone says: "Help me!".

15. I think you could certainly turn the heating down
in the room in which you put it. :)

Your cat would probably want to sleep near it. Drying your trousers on it might be a no-no though. ;)
