What did you have for dinner last night?

I had one of the finer restaurant meals in a long time. I went to the fancy Mexican place called Mas on about 1700-1800 W. Division (Chicago). It has been open for some years but I have never been there before. I had a NY strip on top of chipotle mashed potatoes with some sauce (truffle infused something or another). The steak was done perfectly - grilled with nice char marks. Chipotle mashed were just about the best mashed potatoes I ever had and the sauce was wonderful. I skipped the ceviche to begin (seafood makes my tummy hurt) but had a nice empanada filled with goat cheese, walnuts and something else. Dessert was great too but I forget the details. I strongly recommend this place for Chicagoans or anyone coming here.

1. I was at a scrapbook event, and dinner was catered by Goodwood.

We had brisket, pulled pork, sandwich buns, baked beans, and potato salad.

Ice cream sundaes and cookies for dessert.

All made from leftovers. I was pretty proud of myself.

I had a root canal on Thursday and it still hurts like $#^&(% so I couldn't really chew anything. Hence the soft and weird dinner. :(
