Emotional state plays a strong part in alcoholic influence on humans
At least with me. For example, I feel about on par with my usual nine-beer level drunkenness, yet I'm an emotional wreck and I've only had five. The lesson: if you're going to get drunk, be secure and HAPPY!!!! (this -> :D, not me ->) and you can drink more!!

Learn it, Lounge, learn it and prosper!  :+

1. It certainly does
and it can make the difference between different types of drunk too.

Also how much one has had to eat has an effect - not wishing to sound like a mother, have you been eating properly?

2. Yeah, I had a big bowl of clam chowder with the first three beers.
Food keeping drunkenness down is a myth, I tell ye, a myth!

4. I'd disagree - speaking from experience.
I'd also add that lots of water prevents hang-over - I'm guessing you've got classes tomorrow, so that's probably a good idea too.

8. This is the most well-prepared cathartic piss-up I've seen
I usually just grabbed a friend and let him do the sorting out bits for me (I was, of course, happy to return the favour when needed).

10. Yeah, I'm a *real* example of Rush Limpball's "rugged individualism."
Not one of those shitty conservative "waah, I fucked up, someone bail me out" examples.

Fuck you, ex-girlfriend, I don't need you! I'll do just fine sitting here listening to songs in languages I don't fully understand...yet!

:D

3. It was the same for me after my breakup.
I only had three and I was gone. x(

Haven't had any since, though.

5. I've had five and I can still type lucidly.

Edit: spelling error. x(

7. Then you're not *too* drunk.
Don't go off the deep-end, though. It's not worth it.

9. It'd be tough to do that. I finished all the beer.
Might go get some more, I still hurt.

S'pose I'll wait for a few hours, see how I feel then.
