Poll question: Do You Wear A Wristwatch?
... and if so, why are you always running late?

4. I Didn't Think Of That Option. I've Seen Them Before....
And they ARE pretty cool.

3. I have too many watches
A few years ago, I got into collecting automatic and mechanical wristwatches (they seem to have more "soul" than quartz watches, but nothing matches quartz for accuracy).

My daily wrist-timepiece is the Omega Seamaster Professional Chronometer. It's a big watch, but I prefer some heft in my ticker.

But none of that's an excuse for chronic lateness, from which I do suffer...

5. I can't wear a watch.
They always stop when I wear one. It does not matter if it's a cheap one or a pricey one. My grandmother had the same problem.

6. No, I don't wear a watch
and am pretty good at keeping time to within 5 minutes w/o access to a clock.

Even if I have to look at a clock, there's plenty everywhere: my computer, my car, my stereo, clocks in airports, hospitals, etc.

And yes, I'm always punctual.

8. My Dad bought me one for my B-Day
I took it back and bought my Friend Some Christmas presents with it.

We can't wear one at Culinary College anyways. It's his first Christmas without his Mom and I know what that feels like.

10. I wear one everyday ...
always someplace to be! I never gave much thought to wearing on my left wrist though :-) kind of neat ... I always thought it was because I'm left handed ...

12. I wore a wristwatch for a year - never again.
I got tired of time slipping away being so obvious in front of my face. It made me neurotic. These days I keep a watch handy when I need it, but I won't wear it. It's unnecessary baggage.

13. I stopped after I got my cellphone
It's really bad if I go on the subway and forget to wear a watch. No way to tell time. I figure, though, the cell phone is always correct, so why bother with a watch. I do own a nice watch which I wear for fashion occasionally and to social engagements.

14. I can't: they keep stopping.
They work for while and then slow down or stop. I've lived without one this long; and I don't like the digital ones anyway.

15. I have a travel alarmclock that I carry with me each morning
Edited on Tue Dec-09-03 02:05 PM by JVS
I like it. It is battery powered (either a AA or a AAA i forget which), so I wake up at the right time even when the power goes out. I just wake up and carry it with me during the day. I also like that I can set alarms on it during the day.

Here is a picture

It folds up and is smaller than a pack of cigarettes when closed
about $10 for one

16. I'm obsessively punctual.
I hate it when people are late, I think it's the worst form of rudeness.

19. Face out or in?
On top of your wrist, or under?
Many pilots wear face under to keep from banging it on various cockpit protrusions.
