With all the mixed feelings I had yesterday, I didn't get around to posting this.
I applied a couple of months ago to sit on my local draft board. My main goal in doing this was to try to keep the fortunate sons from weaseling out. Make sure the misery is fairly and equitably distributed, as it were.
So I completed Step 2 of the application process, and got a notice yesterday. I don't have it with me, so I can't quote it verbatim, but it sounded a lot like a rejection letter. You know, thanks for your interest, we'll keep your application on file, yadda yadda.
So my question is: what next? Do I contact them to see what further action is being taken? was I, in fact, rejected and, if so, why?, who was selected and why? etc.
My concern is that there is a stacking of the deck going on. It'd be real easy to see what my voter registration has been for the past 27 years (nudge nudge wink wink), and maybe that makes me an undesireable candidate?
Or am I just being paranoid?
