I have a gift for everyone, a distruction of Bush's "economic" boom when compared to a former democratic president's. And an article trashing bush for something or other, I don't remember what it's about, I finished off a pint before I wrote it.

1. Birthday = National Holiday
Neo: I have a real need to know -- what percentage of the American public rate the status of their birthdays and Halloween at approximately the same level as other national holidays? Is this just in the service industry? I've had employees who absolutely refused to work on either their birthdays or Halloween due to them ranking both days at or above say President's Day, MLK Day, or even in some cases the 4th of July! What gives you think?

when I become president, then I'll take the day off on my birthday, but until then I'll keep writing and going to school :)

On the percentage of people who take off for their birthday, I don't know how it breaks down, but a lot of my friends skipped school on their birthdays (except for the ones born in the summer), so in my age group (18-25) I might say reasonably high.

My mom always seems to plan vacations around her birthday, so I guess that counts too.

2. HBD, NP!
(I had a boss who couldn't be bothered to write out "happy birthday," so he just wrote HBD)

5. Once, on my birthday...
My girlfriend hired a bag-piper to come to my office and play "Stairway To Heaven" on the pipes. Which he did. My boss was slightly amused. And I was the butt of office jokes for the next year.

But I was there, dammit, and hard at work!
