My sister was 8 years older than me and used to yell at me when I was a child that it was RAULF not RALPH.

35. Maybe you remember, Paragon.
I know Kermit was a carryover from Sesame Street, but did they also carry Rowlf over? I can't recall, but I think he also appeared on Sesame Street. None of the other Muppet Show characters did on the TV show, although I think they occasionally carried them over into the movies.

48. Rowlf and Kermit predate the Sesame Street "generation" of Muppets
Edited on Wed Dec-10-03 09:09 AM by Richardo
I believe he was one of the originals, along with Kermit. I remember him having hilarious bits on the Andy Williams show in the 1967-68ish time frame. SS did not start until 1969.

13. The Jim Henson Studios on La Brea Avenue in Hollywood...
Edited on Tue Dec-09-03 08:03 PM by Shakespeare
Just about a block south of Sunset. Quaint little complex that looks like a European village, but the BEST part--they have (on top of the front building) a huge Kermit the Frog (my favorite muppet) in tuxedo coat with a cane, doffing his top hat at passing traffic.

It is my number one favorite thing in my neighborhood--makes me smile every time I drive by it (and I've been known to go out of my way to drive past it when I'm in a blue mood).

18. I loved The Muppetones
a series of non-descript Mupper heads arranged Xylophone-style on a table. They were "played" by hitting each one with a mallet. Each one sang a flat "OW." in a different note.

I always imagined John Cage just flipping because he hadn't thought of it first.

Faves for me:

Kermit
Swedish Chef
Statler and Waldorf
the guy who juggled fish
the Mexican Lobsters
Doctor Teeth and the Electric Mayhem

56. Beaker Rocked!
They were selling these pencils at Starbucks with little muppets on the ends of them, and the Beaker one was the best. All the others were smiling, but Beaker had that trademaked worried look which made it look like he was not particularly comfortable with a big pencil stuck in his ass.

He's good hearted though weird, has a big nose that looks like it's been broken one too many times, and he's always trying to make chickens fly. My kind of guy.

Next, though, I'd have to say Kermie, Sam the Eagle (what a tightassed muppet), and Statler and Waldorf.
