I just took a terrible fall outside......
Was taking out the garbage when I slipped on some ice. I flew up into the air and landed hard on my back. Not only is my butt in pain, I scraped my arm something fierce and it BURNS right now.

Fucking ice.

1. Is this because the lounge broke?
I bet it is. You got up to take out the trash because there was no lounge, right? Right?

Sue DU and then donate to cover the settlement...

17. Hell yeah sue DU! I'll testify for you (for a 50/50 split - wink)
Oh wait a minute, we'd just be sueing for the money we all donated. Never mind.

New plan! Read Free Republic, then take out the trash (which includes Free Republic), and sue them!

Hey, mend fast and take care.

Winter gotta love it, probably *NOT* since ice is only beautiful until you slip on it and bruise your knee (like I did last February) or your ass.

That and the damn snowboarders seem to take over the ski hill and you may run the risk of one of them *shmucking* into you when you ski.

10. take a LONG soak in the tub with epsom salts, take ibuprofen, and get

vitamin E on the scraped arm. you are going to be sore for several days, so keep the ibu's handy. good luck, and healing thoughts coming your way (and believe me, I know how you feel, just recovered from a nasty fall myself.

if there is an herbal or organic store anywhere around you, get calendula (pot marigold) and some muslin bags or cheesecloth. put the calendula in the muslin and fix it so that the bathtub faucet runs through it while filling the bath. soak in it as warm as you can stand it for about 30 minutes (twice a day if you can) this is going to take out the bruising and reduce the swelling.

good luck

Take a few valium, drink a 5th and hit the hay..lol. J/k, good advice niyad.

And I hope you don't hurt for too long. I hate falling these days. It takes 3 times as long to not hurt.

14. As long as you didn't take one of MINE, that's okay.
Just don't take one again. First, borrow the fall to see just how terrible it is. If after taking it you find you don't like it, you see, you can always give it back!

Simple, really...

Gotta be more careful, hope you feel better.

Speaking ofI fell off a bench today when trying to put my heavy backpack on and scraped my knee and left elbow up. Knee still hurts. Note to self: need more sleep and more energy or less stuff in backpack.

21. Friend of mine broke her tailbone that way
and man, the tip of that little coccyx is a delicate little sucker that takes forever to heal! You break that, you can forget about sitting without pain for the next few weeks. She had to carry this foam-rubber ring that looked like an inflatable toilet seat around with her. She was quite embarrassed by it, as everyone assumed she had hemorrhoids, not a broken tail.
