The RetroLounge Daily Poem Thread (Wed 5/17/06)
Desire

This desire
is a kind of sleeping,
a kind of forgetting,
a lost childhood.

I begin to see myself as a skin cave,
dark, without details.
You and I are there having tea,
stirring the tea with our bones,
each with our own bones.

I would drink your reflection
but I cannot find the cup,
I cannot find my hands.

1. "stirring the tea with our bones"
There's an image I could have done without. :hi:

3. No, you needed to see that image
and let it stir something inside of you, which will incubate for a while, then come out in your writing as an even better image.

:hi:

4. Are you going to make me argue with you?
As my baby has been waking me up in the middle of my REM sleep for weeks now, I have all sorts of odd images of my own in my writing TYVM. ;)
