The error message says something about posting while another posting window was open. I've only had one window open this whole time! Anyone know what the problem might be?

1. It was deleted, for the reason I stated.
This topic is taboo on DU. No matter what we think about George Bush or world affairs, we're supposed to SUPPORT THE TROOPS, lest we give conservatives ammunition that suggests liberals aren't patriotic, even though conservatives don't support the troops (and couldn't be considered patriotic even if they DID support the troops).

I'm working on a an analysis of this topic, which I'll put on one of my websites soon. It's a really provocative - and important - issue.

2. Maybe this policy should be clarified more specifically

I have seen many posts that criticized collective punishment, seizing wives and children of people for "interrogation" in order to put pressure on Resistance fighters, slaughter of civilians, just today there was criticism of a video that showed one of the troops talking about how awesome it was to kill an Iraqi writhing on the ground.

In fact, I have criticized these and other violations of international law and Fourth Geneva, and do not consider these actions patriotic at all.

I do not support crimes against humanity or atrocities regardless of whom they are committed by.
