9. interesting story about Sloop John B . . .

at one time, the copyright to that song was apparently owned by Pete Seeger . . . when I was working for the Clearwater project (which Pete founded) many years ago, I got a letter one day informing me that the rights to that song and a couple of others (I think one was "Big Rock Candy Mountain") had been assigned to the organization . . . and every so often from that day forward, we'd receive a small royalty check in the mail . . . haven't been in touch with these guys in quite some time, but I assume the checks are still coming in . . .
