Scientology is a living dystopia. It's as silly and tyrannical as Hubbard's fiction. It's the one religion whose only charity is perpetuating its own mass hypnosis.

It's disturbing to see the alienation that Scientologists feel with friends and family, the poverty induced by hideous fees, and the ultimate disillusion, torment, and organized stalking that occurs when the money runs out.

Sterile and scary. I've never been in. However, I did take a personality once and was aggressively annoyed by the streetside proselytizers whom I pity but still can't stand.

Also, I've met quite a few scientologists in my life. Even the ones that still think it works have ruined their lives paying for literally tens of thousands of dollars of "auditing." The rest have the debt, plus mafia-style bullying to remain in the cult.
