1. The NY sports guys said Petitte has Georgie over a barrel
Looks like Kevin Brown may be in pinstripes while old Andy wears whatever it is the Astros wear these days.

They said a decision will be made within 24 hours.

3. what happened?
I read the NY Times article in which Andy's dad and agents said the Yankes left them hanging...yeah, that's showing some love George!

Manwhile, do you really think Kevin Brown is going to hold up for an entire season? The Yankees need YOUNGER pitchers, not a bunch of guys who have seen better days , or close to start wearing down...

2. its not done yet.
Pettite's agents the Hendrix Brothers are going to try like hell to make Pettite take the biggest offer, if its a dollar more. they said by friday it would be done. I read this in the boston globe this morning.

But it sounds like Pettite (21 wins in 2003) could demand anything.

Check out www.nyyfans.com for some priceless reactions.

Mussina, Vasquez, Weaver, Wells, Contreras is your Yankee rotation if the season started today.

I think Greg Maddux should make sure his cell phone battery is charged.

5. I heard Maddux wants to go to the west coast
But I'm sure he'll go wherever he can get the best deal.

7. as a sox fan it brings us great joy
to see so much bad news in tne Bronx.

That said, they will reload.

How long before Cashman is shown the door. He lost Pettite, didnt get Colon, his next deal is going to be the most important yet for him.

9. Steinbrenner blew it . . .
didn't listen to his baseball people, who said that signing Petite should be their first priority . . . instead, he virtually ignored Andy, who justifiably felt slighted and went elsewhere . . . dumb, dumb, dumb . . .
