Pettitte agrees to three-year deal with Astros

NEW YORK, Dec. 11 — Andy Pettitte decided to pitch at home, agreeing Thursday to a three-year contract with the Houston Astros and bolt the New York Yankees.

Pettitte made the decision after weighing a new offer from the Yankees on Wednesday night, a baseball source said on the condition of anonymity.

Milo SUCKS! Dear God! I mean, he's TRULY a great in the area of baseball broadcasting. (Think Hank's 715th; that's Milo.) But, he has fallen and he can't get up. Listening to him on the radio is painful. I think it's time for Milo to retire gracefully.

It's important that listeners get treated to what/where/when/who Milo had lunch/dinner, his plans for the next road trip, his ruminations on his illustrious career......oh yeah it's nice to mention what's going on down on the field but he is an ENTERTAINER. :eyes:

12. (launch rant) That's what I want for Christmas - Milo's retirement.

Gotta be the most over-rated broadcaster around. What is it that makes people think he's good?

He never mentions the other team (it's always "they". If you don't happen to know or remember who the Astros are playing it can take 3 innings to find out.)

He makes up the lamest nicknames and jargon - really an affectation.

He's one of the worst "homers" I've ever heard announce a game - and I remember Bob prince in Pittsburgh.

Alan Ashby is the only redeeming part of an Astros broadcast. Knowledgeable, professional. I'm a big fan of catchers in the broadcast booth - they know the game and strategies inside and out.

Even though I back those losers from Pittsburgh. At least it'll make the local game more interesting, until McLane get tired of paying him.
