AL GREEN still has it, baby!

A Web friend of mine in San Franciso just sent me a very nice Christmas gift--Al Green's new CD, "I Can't Stop." It's a dozen tracks of brand spanking new material, co-written by Green and his old producer at Hi Records, Willie Mitchell (who also handled the arranging and production duties for this release).

What can I say? The man still has it! Green still can write a good song and he still can burrow into his lyrics and use that magic voice of his to extract every last emotional nuance.

"I Can't Stop" (and why would you want him to?) is THE most soulful CD I've heard in ages. Hell, it's even better than Howard Tate's "Rediscovered," as good as that disc was.

If you're an Al Green fan, you owe it to yourself to grab a copy of "I Can't Stop." You won't be disappointed!
