This has made my recovery from my asthma problems even worse...so I am on so many meds it would stunt a horse.

I am having one of my few okay moments but still have a 102 fever...can't wait for the ibuprofen to kick in...tylenol isn't doing the job...

I went to the hospital for a flu screen and the doctor is going to prescribe that flu med if it is positive...

12. Indeed, it does, you poor sweet thing.

I was a flu shot pusher at the beginning of November, encouraged everyone I knew to do it, paid for a few who were $hort, and we are getting a variant around here. Folks are telling me "I told you the shot gives you the flu!" Of course, not true.

People designing the vaccine do the best they can, but them viruses (virii?) are rascally varmits. Take care, I'm crossing my fingers.

and overall i'm glad i got it. i made sure my kids got it this year since they're all 6 and under ... now that i know about how serious the flu is this year i'm glad i did that.

I have mild asthma and my youngest sister gets it bad enough to require hospitalization every so often so I know how scary those attacks can be.

taking:

albuterol every 4 hours
advair in the morning and night
singulair at night

and some sort of narcotic cough suppressant by pill..

Hopefully your sister can avoid this bug...its nasty.

On the fever thingy....some grape juice pops are quite good for helping the tylenol or ibuprophen to kick in and are quite soothing to your throat as well.

I hope you feel better soon. Keep an eye on your airways.

19. Here's a homeopathic tip that might help others

Get a bottle of aconitum 30C (also called "aconite") at your local natural foods store and keep it handy. If you have sudden onset, take a dose and your symptoms may not get severe. I was just talking to a friend today who took some after getting hit by the flu last weekend. Normally she needs to be hospitalized when she gets the flu or a bad cold but she's been going to work since and while not at 100%, she's been functional.

if you arne't too far along.

If you had the shot and still got the flu: at least hopefully your case won't be so bad that you end up hospitalized or dead.
