I Believe....(post your unconventional thoughts here)
That we live in a Black Iron Prison, and most of what we know about the past is a lie.

8. Hey, Khephra - or Beareria - or Gamera - or whatever, there's a guy
who needs some help in this thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=525694

The thread title is "Something I've been wondering", so you wouldn't know it was asking "what is a 'cthulhu'". Thought you'd like to chime in.

11. I think Canada should annex us.
We could leave a few states behind like Alabama and Mississippi where the Republicans could live and run their own white neo-con fundie paradise.

Saginaw already has an Ontario Hockey League team and THREE Tim Horton stores. We're ready, willing and eager to defect. I know I am.

Heck, if it wasn't for that damned Treaty of Paris (1783), we Michiganians would be Canadians now.

12. Hey I lost a sweater today.
I hung it up in the closet, then went back a couple of hours later and it wasn't there. I pawed through everything and couldn't find it so I selected a jacket, went out for a few hours and went back to hang the jacket. Guess what. The sweater was hanging there. Old lady getting freaky here!

10. I believe the family unit
should be a woman and her children. They should take their mother's surname and who fathered them shouldn't matter. If a woman chooses to get married, she is the head of the household and owns the property. Well, that's the outline anyway. I got this idea watching deer herds.

The herd is actually a family with a matriarch. The males are related to the females.

'cause even before god and the devil existed, large corporations did exist. And god was the first, who didn't get, what he saw in the ad.
And when Jesus really became popular, his advertisers convinced him, not to reveal this dark chapter about his father.
Amen from Germany,

17. I believe we all choose our lives before we're born
As spiritual beings to learn something about ourselves and make our existance more meaningful. I also think my unevolved spirit though it would be getting an easy deal, that this life would be a vacation is the spectrum of my existances, but it's been anything but. However, I think I've learned a lot so far. I'm constantly proving myself stronger that I ever thought possible. There's a lot more to my destiny than it's been. I feel on the verge of a change that I can't yet put my finger on. Actually, for the first time ever, just for kind of a goof, I went to a psychic this past Summer and was told things that at the time were really weird, then they suddenly made sense a couple of months ago, but ultimately I don't know yet. I'd like to think I have control, but I keep finding that the things outside my control take over my plans at times leading me somewhere else.

19. I believe in a sentient universe
I believe we are all a part of the greater consciousness of the universe. That the universe has broken itself up into parts to go out and explore and grow and learn. We are the universe made manifest trying to figure itself out. When we're done with this likfe we return to the universe to share what we learned.

I also believe in the power of the grape, and that a great Pinot Noir can save the world. That means, I believe that the quality of next year's Pinot crop will determine whether or not the Democrat candidate for president is victorious in November!

30. Somewhere, someone is travelling rapidly toward me...
I don't know if this person is friend or enemy, lover or killer; but he is on a path that converges with mine, and in one way or another, everything will change when I meet him.

I believe there is something important I will have to do, and I'll know it when I encounter it--but not until then.

I believe in coyotes, time as an abstract...

32. I believe that inanimate objects...
...can move just *precisely* enough to get in or out of my way, depending on which is most inconvenient for me at that particular moment (you know, the phenomenon where you're looking for the scissors, and you can't find them, but the next day, when you're looking for your Scotch tape, you can't find it, either, but it seems like your scissors are teleporting so they can be underhand six different times).

I also believe that people (who used to be) in the RAF (and by extension, the RCAF) carry infectious gremlins around and give them to their family members, which is probably why I believe in the movability of supposedly inanimate objects. ;-)

35. I believe ...
... in the underlying connectivity of the universe, the threads that
tie everything together, the relationships between apparently discrete
entities that are overlooked/disregarded out of habit/conditioning
and of which we are only fleetingly aware.

... in the power of the mind/spirit/xyz to operate in ways that are,
at first sight, incredibly strange and inexplicable.

... that most of life is an illusion that can take years before one
starts to look into/beyond and finally begins the process by which
we can comprehend/accept/grok the nature of reality.
