"Take THAT, Guernica!!" and other great lines from "The Critic"...
I was looking at a post Wonk made, and his new graphic is Guernica. Now, I understand the power and significance of that marvelous, horrible work of art, but everytime I see it, I immediately think of Franklin Sherman, Jay Sherman's insane, idle-rich, poppy-bush-esque dad, buying Guernica so he could run over with a tank. "Take, THAT, Guernica!!", he exclaims, as he conquers Picasso's greatest statement...

Man, I loved the Critic, mostly for the stuff Franklin did...

anyone else remember that show?

3. I LOVED that show!
It was a riot! I always got a kick out of his son's schoolmate from Easter Island; then one week, his parents came to visit, and I was busting a gut.

4. My all time favorite show!
As if you didn't already figure that out from my username.

I love the scene from "Duke's Ball" when Jay walks in dressed as Homer and ends up winning the Best Gay Bald Man award. The spoof on The Mask with his father was a stitch too.

Other great bits from that show:
"Buy my book! Buy my book!"
The Easter Island Kid that kept toppling over.
The Schwarzenegger guy (forget his name).
"Would you stand up so I may knee you in the groin?"
And of course the Simpsons crossover. Actually there were two. The second is when I think Homer (or maybe Flanders) checks into the psych ward and as they're walking down the hall you see Jay in a straitjacket in one of the cells mumbling "It stinks! It stinks! It stinks!"

Damn. Now I'm gonna have to watch some episodes when I get home.

:)

5. I have the complete 1st season on tape
It was great. I quit taping the second season after a couple, it sucked. Nothing they didn't do the first season.
