In olden days, a glimpse of stocking
Edited on Fri Dec-12-03 11:29 AM by trof
Was looked on as something shocking,
Now heaven knows,
Anything goes!

Good authors,too,
Who once knew better words,
Now only use four-letter words,
Writing prose.
Anything goes!

The world has gone mad today,
And good's bad today,
And black's white today,
And day's night today,
When most guys today,
That women prize today,
Are just silly gigolos.

And though I'm not a great romancer,
I know that you're bound to answer,
When I propose,
Anything goes!

When grand-ma-ma, whose age is eighty,
In night clubs is getting matey
With gigolo's,
Anything Goes.

When mothers pack and leave poor father
Because they decide they'd rahther
Be tennis pros,
Anything Goes.

If driving fast cars you like,
If low bars you like,
If old hymns you like,
If bare limbs you like,
If Mae West you like
Or me undressed you like,
Why, nobody will oppose!
When every night,
The set that's smart is
Intruding in nudist parties
In studios,
Anything Goes.

Still true today.
Cole Porter not only knew how to write lyrics, he was clairvoyant.
;-)

5. Even Porter couldn't foresee
the likes of AssKroft.
And now I've got that song in my head and it won't go away.

7. LOL!!!!!!!!
You are the best, nostamj!

Frankly, I've always thought John Ashcroft escaped from a community theater production of "The Crucible." He gets entirely too much pleasure from seeking the death penalty.

On second thought, maybe the theater is too decadent and spiritually dangerous for the AG...
