Is anyone going to watch American Idol 3?
I'll watch it because it is so amusing to watch Simon Cowell rip bad singers up.

3. No. I'm all American Idol'ed out.
And I'm sick to death of Simon Cowell. Simon's 15 minutes are about up, IMO.

4. bloody hell no
No offense intended to fans, but I have better things to do with my time. Like cleaning cat boxes. Shampooing the carpet. Shaving my legs.

11. We learned that there are so many other activities one could be doing
Instead of watching treacly crap like "American Idol Christmas". Like reading, for instance (which I love). Watching old classic movies. Doing housework. Or NOT doing housework and watching the dust settle :-)

12. I have a silver medal in watching dust settle...
...and a gold in watching cats kick it up again.

Ever want book recommendations, just holler. Feel free to offer yours. I live to read.

And I like watching TV. Imagine that, mhr. :eyes:

13. I am NOT your typical gay man
I'm such a slob. Clothes all over the bedroom floor. Giving lip service to things like dusting. I am regular like things about cleaning the cat litter box...only because my cat loudly informs me that it's time. :-)

Please do offer book recommendations, Bertha. Thank you. I've got a whole backlog of books to read. I'm sort of on a classic literature kick....I want to read the books I should have read a long time ago. I just bought a copy of "Don Quixote" from BOMC. And a copy of "Swann's Way" from insightoutbooks.com. Also, I begun "Death in Venice" and other short stories by Thomas Mann.

9. do you post this to every thread that mentions television?
And does it occur to you that watching television does not prevent one from reading?

Do you consider that the world is chock full of intelligent free-thinkers who enjoy television?

Inquiring minds want to know.

8. I'll probably watch
I like the first couple of weeks when they have to eliminate the terrible contestants, then I like to watch because I enjoy it when the field is narrowed down to the ones who actually have some talent.

Hey, atleast w/ this "reality" show, there's a talent contest involved. Beats eating bugs and camping out on a deserted island.
