6. I lived in Bakersfield once upon a time . . . .

Picture a town with an oil economy and whose primary entertainment was country music radio and dance clubs started by Buck Owens and Merl Haggard. (My Mom's uncle got Buck Owens started in the music business actually).

This fits in with the mentality in Bakersfield perfectly.

7. I grew up there.

My mom and step-dad still live there. So does my aunts and many of my cousins.

My parents are pretty much a minority when it comes to liberal politics. That doesn't stop my step-dad, he's always getting into with some of his fellow Moose Lodge friends. I'm so proud.
