December 12th in black music history

On this day in 1928, Louis Armstrong and his Savoy Ballroom 5 recorded "St. James Infirmary" and "Tight Like This" for OKeh. The sessions featured Earl "Fatha" Hines on piano, and were Louis' last sessions in Chicago.

On this day in 1938, Louis Armstrong and Fats Waller recorded a half dozen sides together.

On this day in 1941, Memphis Minnie recorded "Looking The World Over" in Chicago.

On this day in 1967, Albert King recorded his classic "Cold Feet" in
Memphis for Stax.
