3. I shudder to ask what kind of music you do like!

Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music," perhaps? :hi:

22. Good for you!

I admire people with eclectic musical tastes. Unfortunately, those individuals are few and far between. Well, maybe not here at DU, but you know what I mean!

4. one more minute
wierd al yankovic.

a classic!

...

'cause i'm stranded all alone
in the gas station of love
and i have to use
the self-service pumps!

...

i'd rather clean
all the bathrooms
in grand central station
with my tongue
than spend
one more minute
with you.

The video was pretty funny, too. How many microphones did he go through, anyway?

9. It's on a VHS release called "The Compleat Al"

It came out in 1985 and might still be kicking around somewhere. Well worth seeing!

7. SILHOUETTES-I LIVED that song.
A girl dumped on me when I was about 17. I'd walk by her house every night, mooning, forlorn, grieving, just totally into the self-pitying jilted lover thing.

One night I actually saw two embracing shadows on a living room shade.
In a broken voice <oh jeez> I sang it all the way home.
:-(

11. OK, I'm confused.
There is a significant difference between doo-wop and doo-wah. Smokey Robinson is the king of doo-wah (i.e. "Tracks of My Tears") "Since I Don't Have You," DEFINITELY doo-wah. "Silhouettes on the Shade" is doo-wop without question... ;-)

16. Great as the Platters were, they were NOT a doo-wop group.

They were an R&B-tinged pop quintet. Not to mention the biggest selling vocal group of rock 'n' roll's first half-decade!

15. All would be good answers. I chose Maybe
Edited on Sat Dec-13-03 09:36 PM by Norbert
by the Chantells. The lead singer at that time struck me right away with her terrific set of pipes.

The Flamingos I Only Have Eyes For You. It took me many years but I finally recognize the song for the classic that it is.

The Crests-Sixteen Candles. Johnny Maestro is another very underrated singer.

26. And also....

'My Prayer' I also loved 'Twilight Time'. Beautiful songs.

My mom used to play Platters records for me till I fell asleep when I was very little. I've loved them all my life.
