TALLAHASSEE -- Authorities on Thursday said a driver and companion who crashed a car through the gates of Gov. Jeb Bush's mansion are not believed to have been targeting the governor or his family.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said the pair, Steven Baker (shown on the left in the picture at left) and Floyd Boggs (shown on right) had stolen the car from a nearby parking lot Wednesday night, shortly before slamming it into the gate.
Bush was not in his Tallahassee home at the time, but his wife Columba was. The car smashed through the home's gate and then crashed out another gate onto a street behind the mansion.
No one was hurt.
FDLE officials said two men were arrested a short time later by Tallahassee police and charged with car theft.
