I thought you said you wanted beer.

I'll bring some Sleeman's honey to throw off my tank at the waving crowds.

13. Molson's
Hey, compared to most of the stuff mass-marketed in the USA, Molson's IS beer!

Joke:
The Brewmasters of Budweiser, Miller, and Guinness went to lunch together. The waitress asked each what they would like to drink.

The Brewmaster of Bud said "I'll have a Michelob Golden Draft".

The Brewmaster of Miller said "I"ll have a Miller Genuine Draft".

The Brewmaster of Guinness said "Water for me, Miss".

The waitress asked the Guinness Brewmaster "But sir, both of the other gentleman are having their company's product. We do have Guiness in our cooler."

The Brewmaster of Guinness said "Well, the others weren't having beer, so I didn't think that I should, either."

4. No amnesty for draft dodgers
is a recent thing I heard Canada agree to at BiffCo's request. Seems kinda funny since we have no plans for a draft (suuuuure). Darn all the kids I know have been studying French and looking forward to some Canada kind bud

12. It is a bit more interesting - I believe the 90% really are within 50 m of
USA border.

54'40 or fight would have left near zero population behind in the area above 54' 40. Those folks in the mid 1800's were right on target!

Quebec City - is that above 54' 40? If not, it is still one hell of a long drive.

22. "54'40" wouldn't affect Quebec City.
54 degrees, 40 minutes is the latitude of the southern end of the Alaskan Panhandle. The coastline between that and 49 degrees (the BC/Washington border) is controlled by Canada; you guys have the rest.

"54'40 or fight" was a rallying cry to seize total control of North America's west coast. QC is way at the other end of the country.

27. New Brunswick
There were many in the first 2/3 of the nineteenth century who advocated the annexation of New Brunswick. Oddly, that prospect has reemerged with the threat of Quebec secession.

32. Not for long...
Latest news is that Canada's scrapping the old Leopard tanks and buying... wait for it... Strykers to replace them.

Those goddam submarines we bought from Britain are floating coffins (well, they don't float very well). I used to drive by one of them up on blocks in the shipyard here for months. Seems there was a big dent in the hull. Now they've built a big enclosure around it.

They say that the subs are for fisheries enforcement and anti-drug smuggling use... I say :wtf:
