What am I not getting about this "Brookers" person on youtube.com?

I hear she recently signed some kind of development deal with Carson Daly. Seems to me her entire sense of humor revolves around doing a pseudo-retarded/deaf voice. What am I missing?

Okay first off I watch several of her presentations. They do have a level of production that is a step above most of the stuff created for You Tube directly of indirectly but... it reminds me of the Gilda Radner character of the little girl stuck in her room and entertaining herself. That being said Brookers does seem to have a rudimentary understanding of entertaining or developing a joke.

Her appeal seems to me to be basically a creation of the You Tubers themselves -- she is their first star. A comparison of this to say Dane Cook would be reasonable there doesn't seem to be any real reason for it other than their fans wanting to have something to be fans of that everyone knows about.

Lastly let me say this. After years of observing this sort of thing happen I will be SHOCKED if she isn't the child or relative of someone already in the entertainment industry in some way (movies, books, something). People don't just come out of the woodwork and have this happen to them -see Angelina Jolie and Beck and Sean Penn for examples.
