Poll question: Greatest Gary Numan song?
If you've only ever heard "Cars", please don't vote.

Numan was such an innovator. And I saw him play Vancouver in 1997, and he was AMAZING! So into playing live, after falling so far from his essence for so long.

Fun Gary Numan facts: most of the early work was done with a real drummer, NOT a drum machine.

Gary Numan (aka Gary Webb) bagan his career as a writer of Science Fiction short stories. Nobody was interested in publishing his tales, so he set them to music and tried a different kind of publisher.

5. "Down in the Park" by far for me. NIN /M Manson do a cover
that kicks ass that can be downloaded via Kazaa. I like their version even better than Gary Numans. "Are Friends Electric" is cool too. I could never stomach the way overplayed "Cars" song.

6. The Version of "Cars" he plays live now
The version of "Cars" he plays live now is the Fear Factory version, with guitars taking the place of the keyboard lines.
