I've been seriously considering piercing/stretching my lobes lately.

If you do decide to stretch, do it really slow. I spent over a year going from 10g to my current 0g. Your lobes will love you for it. I'm not going any bigger than 0g though. I'm happy at this size. I was originally going to stop at 4g actually, but then I saw a cool pair of plugs with little guns engraved into them and stretched for the plugs. Of course, I lost them after a month.

If you know you're going to stretch, I'd recommend getting your lobes done at 8 or 10g right away. It'll cut down on stretching time. Initally, I was pierced at 14g, but I wasn't planning on stretching.

I had to:

Learn to ride a motorcycle;
Learn to ride without pants;
Learn to apply burn cream;
Learn to ride without pants, without burning anything important;
Learn to smoke cigars;
Learn to smoke cigars without choking;
Learn that lighting a cigar while riding is a bad idea;
Learn that lighting a cigar while riding in a kilt is a really bad idea;

and finally...

Learn that trying to put out a fire while riding in a kilt is a disastrously bad idea.

That explains why I can't remember ever having a lousy time!

The tank, I mean. I can spot 'em a mile away. (Although, it COULD be an M-26 Chaffee; but I think the turret overhang is too long.) As an M1A1 tank sergeant, teaching armored vehicle recognition was part of my job.
