1. I LOVE IT.
Thank you for that. I loved seeing where you were through your eyes, and now I'm really antsy to go get a camera and do same.

4. Yes, it really was.
When I get my camera, I would like you to walk with me along Atlantic Beach in September, and the Eno River in August.

8. I've seen the Atlantic ocean only once.
I've never been to Carolina in the morning,
or any other time of day.

The Eno River sounds wonderful:

From Wikipedia:

:The Eno is notable for its beauty, which has
been preserved through aggressive citizen efforts.
Though barely more than forty miles from its source
to its convergence at the Neuse, the Eno features
significant stretches of natural preservation,
through the combined efforts of the North Carolina
State Parks System, local government, and private
non-profit preservation groups."

I am touched by your invitation, SS

12. Thanks, Ptah!
Have been over the Rillito bridge at Campbell many times. Looks like you took the pics from River Road. Good to see water there!

Is there ANY water in the Santa Cruz?
(ahhh...those were the days when there really was a river running through Tucson all the time...)

13. I was hoping this thread would get your attention, my good friend.
Yes, these are the Rillito at Campbell.

I haven't seen the Satna Cruz lately, but I'm sure it's running fast and deep.

How's your new dog?

Still enjoying owning you?

23. Seneca is doing great! Just learned the other day that she likes
to go swimming!! I was at my son's house to cool off in his pool, and Seneca first stepped in on the top step, then she laid down, got out, walked around the pool and then jumped right in! She swam once around the pool, and then seemed pretty satisfied and got out. She was smiling to beat the band.

Took her back there yesterday, and she climbed right in again! Going to be getting her a wading pool this week ;D

38. We took a Mother's Day camping trip there one year...
The Bayside campsites, where we usually camp in the National Park, were closed. So we staked out on the Oceanside, which is a lot breezier. We didn't have long tent stakes; and the wind really picked up after we went to sleep.

I woke up sometime in the middle of the night, and the wind was lifting the tent up underneath my older boy, who was 8 at the time.
He remained sound asleep, even though he was being picked up from the ground! We ended up hauling the ice chest, some rocks I had in the car, and a bunch of other heavy stuff over and setting them on top of the stakes.

It rained all the next day; but that kept the crowds away...

Glad you got some R&R! :hi:

Rillito reported topping its banks
Swift water rescues occur in several areas surrounding the city

StarNet
Tucson, Arizona | Published: 07.31.2006

The Rillito was reported overflowing in several sections just north
of the city following heavy rains early this morning, according to
police radio reports.
River rescue teams were dispatched to several areas surrounding
the city to save drivers and pedestrians caught in heavily flowing washes.
The rescue operations were reported in the Sabino Canyon area,
in the Rillito River at North Dodge Boulevard, on the Tohono O'odham
reservation south of Tucson, at Contractor's Road at Ajo Way and
at Snyder Road at Houghton Road.
According to police radio reports, the Rillito had topped its banks and still rising.
Shortly after 8 a.m., police started evacuating the Rillito riverwalk.
Gawkers also were reported wading in the
water that rose to the level of the riverwalk.
