Dogs Have More of a Right to Exist Than Cats!
Dogs have been around for centuries as loyal companions to the human race and their history is well documented. They never harm innocent victims and when people are harmed by dogs it's their own fault for provoking them. Dogs can fetch a ball and play with children. They are better because they greet you at the door tail-wagging happy for your return. Counter to widely held belief, dogs never dig in the trash or eat grass which would be against all environmentally sound practices held by the Dog Council. They are better because they go potty outside and never in the house. Their poo does not smell and furthermore contributes to fertilizing of the great outdoors. In spite of the propaganda released by the Cat Council, dogs never chase cats, NEVER! Dogs are just better because they are. Dogs have more of a right to exist than cats. I stand firmly behind my dog on this one and all you pro-cat people are just cleverly disguised anti-doggists.
Cats on the other hand are sneaky, vile little creatures. They hide behind the couch and jump out at you. They scratch small children for nothing at all. Can't fetch a ball. Cats simply refuse to greet you at the door and furthermore, unless they want food, pretty much treat you like a stranger in your own home. Eventhough there is never proof, cats dig in the trash all the time and that just goes to show you how sneaky they are. Cats go potty in the house all the time in those stinky litterboxes that we are forced to clean. The Cat Council regularly releases propaganda about the unclean conditions of litterboxes, well they're the ones pooing so they should clean it up. Cats need to stop blaming dogs for their woes, especially since they are constantly chasing dogs and then claiming otherwise. Cats are the worst and pro-cat people are contributing to the destruction of dogs.

Disclaimer: No animals have been harmed or slandered in the making of this post.

This has been a fair and balanced report paid for by the Dog Council.

3. A differing view
If any person jumped up on me and rubbed his dirty hands all over my clothes, then stood nearby and shouted at me for twenty minutes, I'd dislike him as much as I dislike dogs that do the same thing.

Dogs are great. It's those knucklehead owners who refuse to control their dogs. They're the annoying ones.

my Dad had the most awesome barn cat on his farm. She kept the mice out of the barn; killing many of them, kept to herself and was no trouble at all. And when she was allowed in the house she behaved herself and was very charming. However, Dogs are mighty cool. I'm gullible. The best way to get me to buy something, put a dog in a commercial.

They have a dog's loyalty, a cat's pride, and you can ride them if your car breaks down.

And also, I have plenty of evidence of cats digging in the trash, as they have no qualms about doing it right in front of me despite my loud and angry protestations.

I've broken five bones and none of my injuries came from horses...and I've been around them since I was about four. Most horses that are well-trained and aren't abused are very sweet, people-oriented animals that will go out of their way *not* to injure humans.

But maybe we should ban them along with the pit bulls... :P

Which exposes your entire argument as a weak pile of anti-cat slurs and lies. Dogs are, of course, the source of all evil in this world. Do you step in a huge pile of CAT poop walking down the sidewalk of just about any city? No, you do not. It is DOG poop, left there with no thought of the law about cleaning up dog poop. When my cat poops in the yard, he buries it where no one will accidentally step in it. Why? Because unlike dogs, he is a thoughtful, law-abiding, public-minded individual.

Why don't you and your warlike dogs just go back to where you came from.

most of the dogs in our family. Most of them have healthier self-esteem then I do. :D

Oddly enough the dogs and cats in our home have learned something better then some countries... how to live together dispite the differences in overall peace, how to settle territory disputes without killing each other, how to share and how to work together to accomplish goals. The rare skirmishes that do occur are more often between cat and cat or dog and dog not between cat and dog.

Edited on Wed Aug-02-06 04:08 PM by Onlooker
They can play the same games as a child, such as catch and fetch. They eat the wrong things, like a child. And like children, they have their share of accidents and make noise at the wrong time. Other than fur and the fact that they're relatively inexpensive, they bring nothing to the human race that children don't already provide. Cats, on the other hand, not only are furry (and softer, I might add) and cute, they have their own sense of time, propriety, and love. They aren't trying to be like second-rate humans. They are independent; they think for themselves; they like to be mysterious; and they look so fucking cute when they roll on the floor:

They never harm innocent victims and when people are harmed by dogs it's their own fault for provoking them.

That's debatable, especially when you're talking about pit bulls or mastiffs.

Counter to widely held belief, dogs never dig in the trash or eat grass which would be against all environmentally sound practices held by the Dog Council.

You want to hear about disgusting things dogs do? I had a dog once that ate a fucking BOOT (and it was quite large!).

In spite of the propaganda released by the Cat Council, dogs never chase cats, NEVER!

That same dog I mentioned killed more neighbors' cats then I'd care to admit, and once tore two of a cat's legs off.

They scratch small children for nothing at all. Can't fetch a ball.

They have self-respect, more than you can say about dogs. Furthermore, I actually have a cat that does fetch.

Cats simply refuse to greet you at the door and furthermore, unless they want food, pretty much treat you like a stranger in your own home.

That same cat snuggles with me all the time. As for the rest of the cats, see my self-respect comment.

In conclusion, I seem to find cats' cold arrogance rather reassuring. A totally subservient pet is just not my cup of tea. I prefer to feel more equal with my pet.
