Classic Album That You're So Sick Of You Never Want To Hear It Again

AC/DC - BACK IN BLACK by a landslide! The so-called "classic rock" station here plays the song "Back in Black" about once per hour for the last 23 years and counting. I've had the record since 1980,but I doubt it will ever see the turntable again in my lifetime.

Just to put things in perspective, I would rather hear "Stairway to Heaven" for the 1,000,001th time before I would want to hear "Back in Black" ever again.

As for classic albums that I've owned that I never want to hear again, I guess I'd say.......

U2 - Joshua Tree. An album that has not withstood the test of time.

12. I got pretty sick of that one, too, Intelsucks.

And no offense to Pink Floyd, because I haven't written off everything they ever recorded, but I only like about three songs on 'The Wall' and don't care if I never hear some of it again for the rest of my life. Mostly has to do with hearing the ones I wasn't fond of a million and six times apiece, I guess.

I actually like 'Dark Side Of The Moon' and 'Wish You Were Here,' but once Waters went over the edge and spent every album brooding on his upbringing, he lost me.

Led Zeppelin's fourth album can bite me, too. Again, just got sick of hearing the same two or three songs over and over. I don't hate them, either, but really ...

Clear Channel's restrictive playlists are turning young people away from Rock and towards disco (or whatever electronic dance music fans call their "new" genre this week). No wonder young 'uns hate rock and roll; their only exposure to it is from listening to Clear Chanel radio's tedious roll call lised above...if that's all I knew of rock, I'd hate the music, too!


AOR when I was growin up used to play all sorts of weird shit...Now you don't even hear Traffic, or Argent, or Bob Dylan, or reggae, or early Commodores, or whoever...It sucks.

Sonic Youth invented a new language for the guitar. Their system of alternate tunings was completely unique to them, and was really a new thing when it first came out in the 80's. Everything since Goo has been crap, though, I'll give you that....

And I never did like Kim Gordon's voice, either (or her kitschy songwriting...)

Methinks you will anger some folks with that one. I don't dislike them, but i'll admit i never thought they were all that. Without Groll, they would have been just another grunge band. He kept the whole thing together, arranging, helping to produce, rewriting choruses, putting in the "C" parts of the songs, etc. He's really quite the craftsman. The others, eh!

I disagree with many of the choices here. U2, Nirvana, Fleetwood Mac, and more listed have classic albums that I'll always listen to. BTW, IMO Nirvana had Kurt's voice (often badly immitated) and great lyrics - not just Grohl. I haven't heard Patti Smith's Horses, but I liked Gung Ho, and Horses is supposedly even better.
