What a maroon

I don't think Johnny gives a royal fuck any more.

It's not like he's going to be getting any from Jodie!!

3. I can't say I blame her
After all, the guy did try to kill her husband. I find it very extraordinary that he is allowed to leave.

4. Yeah, I had this smartass comment to write
but realized that besides the Secret Service watching the guy, and his range limited to 50 miles around D.C. and Reagan is living in Cali and Jodi Foster is probably a lesbian, there's nothing to worry about :-)

18. 50 miles around DC? WTF?
That means he can hang around the Washington Hilton again the next time he gets a Jodi Foster fantasy...simply amazing...

Isn't his family loaded?

If so, there's your answer right there

14. HIs family's money
obviously makes no difference. If it did, he would have been released a long time ago.

15. As opposed to keepin' his ass out of jail
Or dead, like the Repugs wanted him.

St. E's is a damned sight better.

I pick the lawyers for achieving this feat

13. If he had shot anyone else
he would have been released a long time ago. The doctors say his sickness is well under control with medication. Schizophrenics don't have to spend the rest of their life in a hospital. They can be treated and have relatively normal lives, posing no risk to society.

8. Nancy should be more scared that Poppy's son is running the show
Since it was Poppy that put Hinckley up to it. I'll bet he's still chuckling over it
"Babs, I can't believe that punk thought I was actually gonna fix him up to poink that little gal in her comfy shoes...Hoo-hoo-hee-hee!"

9. It's not Hinckley that Nancy has to worry about
it's the Bush Crime Family. They're saving Rayguns for their October surprise and sympathy vote.

10. She's in her 80s now. Time to let her alone.
Let history judge her and her husband - and it will. No fan here, but this isn't a target for me anymore. And, she did come out against removing FDR from the dime. She's old, her husband is past caring, they will both be used (and misused) by Karl Rove for his own devices. Me? I say let her be. If she's still scared of Hinckley, that's her personal feeling on the matter, and she's entitled to it.

11. Does have to be a news story?
For god's sakes, we've got the flower of our country being sacrificed daily in this illegal war.

I think the worldwide news cabal can come up with a much more relavant news story in their 30 second " newsbreaks".

16. I would be too. This is simply horrible to let this creature out.
He should rot in prison for the rest of his life.

And I loath "raygun".

And I also understand why people call for the death penalty - to prevent "lifetime in prision" sentences in lieu of the death penalty from turning into a few year sojurn till freedom again.

My better angel inside me still doesn't approve of the death penalty, no matter what my baser instincts would cry out loud and hard for if someone I dearly loved was killed by such a madman.

17. Nancy's scared?
I thought ex-presidents had Secret Service protection for the rest of their lives. Plus, I'm sure they live in some kind of gated community.

21. Hasn't king ron
gotten enough attention lately? Last week we had to hear about ron replacing Roosevelt on the dime and now this week, the Hinkley thing.

Isn't Reagan's 15 minutes up yet??
