1. I use
hallmark.com

They do ask for your e-mail, but only to let you know when the card's been sent.

4. Not Christmas specifically
but you can send a free e-card with my artwork on it from this site -

http://www.ebsqart.com/Artists/cmd_23_profile_portfolio__5_0_T.htm

No popups, no ads at all. There are hundreds of artist there, and if you do a search for christmas, I'm sure some paintings would come up.

8. I ... HATE ... THOSE ... THINGS
I was spared spam for a long time. I was very careful about protecting my "real" email address, kept getting throwaway email accounts until the were spammed out and then moving on to a new one. Then a friend sent me one of those Xmas cards and it was the end of my spam-free days.

All of those sites exist to harvest email addresses and sell them to spammers. It's not like I can warn every friend or colleague who has my email address not to send me those things. I am at the mercy of the good intentions of others.

So if you're going to send someone something, don't give any website their email address. Don't download and send executable Xmas cards (I would NEVER open any of these no matter WHO sent it to me). Stick to still JPEG images embedded in your email message or something like shockwave or flash.

Sorry to be a party pooper but some of your friends may be like me and really not appreciate the gesture.

9. I hate e-cards too
ESPECIALLY the Christmas ones. I like to DISPLAY my cards - and a PRINTED one LOOKS LIKE SHIT.
