Tell Me All The Nicknames You've Ever Had For Yourself?
You know, names that people close to you, friends, family, ect call you.

Since my name is Jason, most people call me Jay.

But I also went by the nicknames Big Jay Cool (seriously, or BJC for short) and Killer.

Killer being my nickname when I played football in high school.

What about you? Don't be shy....

6. Man, I've got a bunch.
Edited on Thu Dec-18-03 03:35 PM by XNASA
In the first place, my name is Robert. At one time or another, I've been called every variation:

Rob
Robbie
Bob
Bobby

In the Navy, 5 of the 6 who worked with me were named Robert, or Bob. So to keep everyone straight, I was called by my middle name:

Leo

In bootcamp, I once made a reference to Hokey Wolf, the cartoon character, so I was called:

Hokey (not something I'm proud of)

Back in my days as a member of a touring band, I was relating a story about the Uzbeks and how they liked to drink vodka and set fires. So everyone started calling me:

Uzi (pronounced "oos-see")

My buddies from the old neighborhood call me:

King Bobus (boe-buss), or sometimes just "The King" for short.

That's one nick-name I like. It's good to be King.

My friends and I all have camping names, that we refer to each other by when we're out on the trail. Mine is:

Al Pine (get it, alpine)

Because me last name is similar to my first, people have called me:

Bob Squared, or Rob Squared, or R Squared.

Most of the time, I'm just Rob.

9. Nothing that ever really stuck
Edited on Thu Dec-18-03 03:37 PM by VelmaD
I've had a variety over the years.

I used to beat up anyone who called me Barbie or Babs or any of the other nicknames for Barbara. I did let one girl call me Barbarian but that's because her name was Heather and she let me call her Heathern. :-)

In college I had a friend from Massachusetts who called me Barb but with his accent it sounded lik Bob. :-)

My dad calls me Scooter. I liked that one until "Scooter" Libby highjacked it...fucking PNACers. *grumble*

Someone tried to peg me with Smooches on a nickname thread a while back since I end so many of my messages that way but it didn't stick.

The only other nickname I have is really personal and only one person is allowed to call me by it. ;-)

Mostly I'm the cause of nicknames in other people - just ask Little Bit or Doll-baby.

10. We have a funky family name that lends itself to lots of jokes....
Bonebrake...in college they called my son Boner. The group of college kids I work with call me Boney. This name has obviously been convoluted into every imaginable form.
