14. Who cut one? Reminds me of a story....
Edited on Thu Dec-18-03 04:21 PM by kmla
One day, while I was still in college, a group of friends and I happened to end up (during a road trip) in a small town in Illinois.

It was late fall, and corn harvest was in full swing. Consequently, the small town to which we road-tripped was also home to a canning factory, where canned corn and other vegetables were produced.

(A Short History) A natural by-product of the canning industry is a liquid, referred to as 'silage'. Contains water, corn juices, and small amounts of corn. This silage is then contained in large, outdoor holding tanks, later to be sprayed back on the fields for it's fertilizer value.

So, imagine if you will, what this silage starts to smell like once it is collected and awaiting re-distribution, and it starts it's natural fermentation process.

That's right. You guessed it. A fart. A huge fart. A huge, town-encompassing FART! It was perhaps the worst smell I have ever experienced for an extended period of time. It was inescapable.

It is the only time in my life that I went INTO a fast food restaurant because the smell bothered me.

A town native said in conversation that the locals would play jokes on unsuspecting visitors by remarking "Was that you who did that?" while the canning season was in swing.

(Edited for smelly spelling).

"I smell the smelly smell of something that smells... smelly."

15. This is kinda cruel, but fun
Next time you're in an elevator with a bunch of stuffed shirts and you have to fart, just rip it and say you have a health problem.

Trust me, it's fun.
