Stephen King released from hospital

BANGOR, Maine — Stephen King will be home for the holidays.

King was released from the Eastern Maine Medical Center on Wednesday after spending 25 days in the hospital fighting pneumonia and complications from a 1999 accident, the author´s spokeswoman Marsha DeFilippo told The Associated Press.

"He´s home and on the mend. He´s happy to be home for the holidays," she said.

I am glad he is doing better. I have been a big fan of his since I was in high school. I used to devour all his books during my summer vacations.

Some of his work is quite entertaining and imaginative. I fancy myself a literary snob, but I can enjoy a King novel once in a while--it's like a smart action movie. Shawshank Redemption is, by any standard, a very enjoyable short story. I like it better than a few of Laurence's, even if it's "litry" elements aren't as pretentiously obvious. :)

6. I can't agree. Just about all of his books are great.

There are some execptions. For instance, Insomina would be a great nighttime read for someone suffering from insomina. Totally boring!!
