Why do teachers insist on giving me things to do when I don't wanna do em?
Edited on Thu Dec-18-03 09:45 PM by breezygirl
:)

Seriously, though, it's almost Christmas and everyone loves complaining about how much homework and tests they have, don't they?

Seriously though, these are my "Christmas presents" from all my teachers:

A reading and paper about Thomas Paine from Dr. Scott (Amer. Gov.)
A flute solo where we have to do a scale from Mr Sieve (Band)
A 100 pt Unit exam on giving persuasive speeches from Mr. Kachelmacher (English) Methinks I should've used that persuasion he taught me to get out of the test...
A 30-page packet from Mr. McCormick deue on Jan 6 (Science)

Tis the season to be jolly...:)

So, DU kids, who else wants to complain with me?

(Don't get me wrong, I do my homework and normally do ok on it, but it doesn't mean I can't complain about it :P)

5. Hell, I know....
I'm 42 and unemployed. I don't wake up early - unless it's to go scuba diving.

yeah, school can suck, but to be honest - it's better than working.

17. Don't need an ocean...
tons of people learn to dive in lakes and quarries. If you pick up the yellow pages, I bet you can find a scuba school near you. Seriously.

Once you're certified, it's a great excuse to travel to great beach destinations! Hell, come on out to California and I'll take you diving in Monterey Bay.

Hey Breezy, we just learned about him, and you have every right to complain. I second your notion to complain. :hi: breezy

6. Just wait until you have to work for a living.
I am lucky to get 2 days off at Christmastime. Usually it is just Christmas Day and the office closes at 3 on Christmas Eve (I have to take it as a vacation day to make a big family dinner).

My husband just worked fifteen straight days in a row working from 8 or 9 a.m. until 10:00 or 11:00 p.m... Today, he got a day off...

Kids, every thing you do from this moment on counts for the rest of your life. And every thing you don't do will also make its mark. Do the work, do a little more than requested or demanded and try to find something in it that is enjoyable for you. You will never know when something you do or learn now or don't do and don't learn now will will impact your life in a VERY MAJOR way.

edit: typos

8. know what the 1 thing worse than teachers giving too much HW is?
Students complaining about too much work.

I believe I'm qualified to speak, given that I'm both a student and a teacher.

14. Hey Breezy
Yeah, we haven't talked in...forever :(.

But anyways, I literally have no homework. I have to finish reading a chapter in my AP History book (which I have like, 6 pages left) and over break i'm just gonna have a chapter to do. It's like, easy compared to the time we usually take on a chapter.

Other than that, i'm doing great. I can't wait until Christmas either, i'm like, all excited and crap for the holidays too! :D So, anything else new with you?

All I have planned so far is a Christmas party on Christmas day and i'm going to see the new LOTR movie tomorrow. But, it's not so bad since I could use the time to relax. So, I'll prolly be spending a bit more time here than usual :)

If you think you sound bad at night, put me and 3 or 4 of my friends in the same room at night with caffeine. You'd seriously think we're mentally disabled by the end of the night :P
