Happens every year at least once. This is the fifth or sixth (and last) time. Fortunately I rent the house, and granted it is an unfinished basement. But still. It stinks. (literally)

I come home from my volunteer gig and get on DU and promptly start posting with a very sh*tty attitude toward everyone and everything.

Now do you think this is a coincidence? I don't. I feel a little better now. I think I will take a long break. :)

(P.S. I wanted to title this post "Fecal Matters" but thought it might get locked.)

4. You have my sympathy

I came home from work one day, from a job involving retrofitting a working sewage treatment plant, and found my basement four inches deep in backed up city sewage. It took four days to clean and sterilize the place and it broke my heart.

I sold the house the following year and vowed never to own another one. Kudos on your persistence.

9. I came home one day

and found the entire toilet nicely placed in the bathtub.
And the hole in the floor was all bandaged up with saran wrap and duct tape.
(My landlady was annoyed about my complaint about the toilet tank leaking - clean water - onto the floor so she sent the plumber people home early.)

Luckily, my office was on the next block and I er um worked late that night. Never did trust that bathtub afterwards though. Made it a point to only take showers.
