And for my 200th post... PLEASE HELP.... DU MUSICIANS & COMPUTER PEOPLE
Edited on Fri Dec-19-03 01:29 AM by ChoralScholar
Can any Democrats come to the Rescue?!? :)

I have a file that was saved in Macintosh Finale 2002 that I need converted to MIDI. I only have PC Finale 2002 which will not open Mac *.MUS files (a terrible shortcoming, IMHO) so I can't do it myself.

Anyone have Finale 2002 for Mac (or later), and can convert this file for me (or re-save it as an ETF)

http://edtech.atu.edu/students/a005/psalm.mus

If anyone can do it, please email it to a005@mail.atu.edu

P.S. I am on a ruthless deadline, and getting this done will save me some 4 hours of work inputting this music from the score.

Thanks Guys!!

ON EDIT: at the very least, please keep this kicked until in the morning so everyone sees it. THX

4. they should have Macs at your local Kinko's
download it, convert it to an mp3 and then e-mail it to yourself

I don't know if all macs support .mus or just those equipped with Finale

5. hmm
I don't know much about finale, but from what I've read the PC version *should* be able to open Mac files made with the same version.

A few things you might try:
http://www.recordare.com/finale/index.html
http://www.finaleforum.com/

:kick:

6. They do...
but only with Finale's intermediate file type (ETF-Enigma Transportable File). That is what is used to go between platforms. But the MUS format on the Mac, and the MUS format on the PC, are not interchangable for some dumbfounding reason.

Thanks everyone for trying though.

7. Welcome to DU--can't help, but
I can ask if you've ever sung Morten Lauridsen's work...?

8. lots of it, in fact.
Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium is beautiful, as are the Les Chansons de Roses.

He's got a great style that I really like.
