I want to buy a gift for a male co-worker. What would be a good inexpensive gift? I'm at a loss. He is in is 50s and an intellectual, also a musician.

4. Ya know, I like those, but |

I'm embarrased to give them. People know EXACTLY how much you spent.

13. Then get almost inappropriately generous, then you aren't |
|
embarrassed.

5. A book is always good. |
|
A small penknife is also an appropriate gift, but make him pay you a penny, so you don't 'cut' the bands of friendship. :)

Wine is nearly always a nice gift. Provided he enjoys some drink now and then.

10. Gourmet coffees or teas |
|
are always great gifts and inexpensive too. Many stores have tasty Holiday Chai blends this time of year.

tea and a book would be great. you could also get him a magazine subscription to the Nation, which is cheap and is the gift that keeps on giving.
